RICHARD ROHR

Franciscan friar and ecumenical teacher Richard Rohr is the founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation. Through his books and teachings, Father Richard teaches how God’s grace guides us to our birthright as beings made of Divine Love. He entered the Franciscans in 1961 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1970. He received his master’s degree in theology in 1970 from the University of Dayton and founded the New Jerusalem Community in Cincinnati 1971. Father Richard established the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1986. Today, he serves there as founding director and academic dean of the Living School for Action and Contemplation.
