Nathalie Molina Niño, CEO of BRAVA Investments, discusses the idea of outcomes over optics and the difference it can make.

“The idea of outcomes over optics is something that is applicable no matter what you do,” says Nathalie. “It’s a matter of staying centered and staying focused and exercising that muscle of constantly asking yourself the question, ‘Is this looking good or is this doing good?’”

Watch the video to hear Nathalie’s detailed definition of outcomes over optics and why the world needs more of it.

So, for me, outcomes over optics is putting money in the pockets of women in order to make an impact on the world and in order to also make good investments. I think, though, the idea of outcomes over optics is something that is applicable no matter what you do. I think it's very easy, especially today in the disjointed media world of massive overwhelm of data and social media and stories, it's very easy to get caught up with symbols and metrics and information that doesn't actually move the dial.

This idea of breaking the world down between what are the things that are actually creating an outcome versus what are the things that are really more just optics feels like it could be time-consuming. I don't actually think it is. I think it's a matter of staying centered and staying focused and exercising that muscle of constantly asking yourself the question, "Is this looking good or is this doing good?"
