Leadercast’s Andy Stanley Discusses Focus

Anyone who knows Andy Stanley can see he wears many hats. As a leadership communicator, author, and founder and senior pastor of Atlanta-based North Point Ministries, Andy keeps a full schedule while juggling the demands of leadership. He has authored more than 20 books and spoken at leadership conferences worldwide. Each month, millions of his messages and videos are accessed online.

Andy keeps a lot on his plate, but the key to his success has not been a result of taking every job or opportunity that comes his way. It is the result of unrelenting focus in directing his time doing the things only he can do, like creating content.

As leaders, it is easy for us to become jacks-of-all-trades because of the various responsibilities we take on. But it is this mentality that often puts us on the fast track to poor time management, overwork, and a lack of focus and clarity around what we do. In contrast to this, Andy believes we should focus on that in which only we can do. As he shares in an episode of his leadership podcast, the less you do, the more you accomplish, and the less you do, the more you enable others to accomplish.

Less is more when a leader has the focus he or she needs to truly be successful. That’s why at Leadercast 2022—The One Thing, taking place May 4 at PromoWest Pavilion at OVATION in Newport, Kentucky, Andy will return to the Leadercast stage to discuss the topic of focus as the one thing you need in your leadership. He will be joined by nine fellow leaders all answering the same question: “What is the one thing that makes a leader worth following?”

Maybe you spread your time doing a little bit of work for multiple departments in your organization instead of focusing on the things that only you can do. Everyone wins when we put our focus toward the tasks and objectives we are best at—what only we can do. “When a leader focuses on what they are good at and allows great people to do the things that they’re good at, you have a well-rounded organization even if you don’t have a well-rounded leader,” shares Andy in his podcast.

Do you spend your time focused on the tasks and objectives only you can do? If not, how can you discover what only you can do? Join us at Leadercast 2022—The One Thing to find out from outstanding leadership communicator Andy Stanley. Attend live on May 4 in Newport, Kentucky (conveniently located minutes from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio), or virtually at select locations around the globe.
