HOSTING IN PERSON?

We’re so excited that you’re able to deliver this content in person! Whether you are you hosting for the first time or a veteran host site leader, the common goal is to create an incredible experience for your attendees from the time they park their car until the last speaker is complete.

Leadercast is not just about the amazing content we curate, but the delivery and execution of your event. From the time they walk in, how it feels, smells, the food you serve, all of these play a part in making your audience member feel special and leaves them wanting more. Here are some best practices in how to deliver that perfect experience.

BUILD YOUR TEAM

Organizing a great event requires having a great team. Your job is to lead them well so that your audience has a great day!

Please determine which positions you foresee needing, create job descriptions for each, and consider who could best fill them.

Suggestions for selecting team members

HOW TO CREATE THE PERFECT EXPERIENCE

Venue, catering, and marketing! These three concepts are crucial when it comes to hosting the event in person. You’ll want to pick a venue that can be easily found by your attendees in addition to meeting the technology requirements.

During the breaks, we suggest partnering with your local community business leaders to provide coffee, snacks, and lunch.

You’ll want to get the word out on your event as early as you can. Marketing materials are found on the resources page. There you will find editable fliers, sponsorship information, speaker bios, etc. Pushing these materials early and often will help you sell tickets faster. You’ll want to define your target audience and can market specifically to them using these materials.

REBROADCASTING FLEXIBILITY

With this new platform we have created, you have the capability of deliver the content to your community how you see fit. You tell us what you want and we can create it for you on the backend. All you need to do is press play!

You have the following options:

  • Hosting a one day event on a date that fits your schedule
  • Showing one speaker over the course of a few weeks or even once a month for a speaker series or “Lunch and Learns”
  • You can piece together two or three speakers at a time
  • You can host multiple one day events to fulfill your ticket allocation

We suggest having an event day plan in place for these options so that you’re still providing an incredible experience for your attendees!

WHO IS YOUR HOST?

You might be the emcee of your event, but in case you’re not, we suggest getting a commitment from someone to be your host/emcee at least 6 to 8 weeks prior to your event. That way they have time to work with you to familiarize themselves with the format and mission of the day, and will understand your vision for the level of energy you’d like to see in for your virtual event and can brainstorm on how to make that happen.

You will want to reach out to someone who will be able to bring a lot of energy to your event, whether in person or virtual. Furthermore, name recognition within your community will help drive ticket sales. For example, a local news anchor or radio/podcast/TV personality.

This thought process is also applicable to choosing additional speakers. Please see below.

CHOOSING ADDITIONAL SPEAKERS

Some host site leaders decide to add a local speaker or someone within your organization to the lineup, either during lunch or after the last speaker on the main stage. If you choose to do that, we ask that you remember two key things: excellence and inclusivity. Leadercast speakers are expected to have impeccable stage presence and presentation skills, and we ask that you look for the same in your additional speakers.
